About Romestead Guide
Romestead Guide is an independent strategy hub for Romestead, the survival town-builder from Beartwigs (developer) and Three Friends (publisher — veterans behind Minecraft, Valheim, and Deep Rock Galactic). We're not affiliated with the development team.
What we publish
Walkthroughs, boss guides, build orders, mechanic deep-dives, and a live patch tracker. We focus on the questions players actually hit Steam forums and Reddit asking about — not surface-level overviews you can get from the Steam page.
How we source content
Every guide goes through a verification process:
- Firsthand gameplay. We play the game and document mechanics directly — screenshots, in-game tooltips, observed behavior.
- Cross-reference the official wiki at romestead.wiki.gg for naming and recipe details.
- Patch-test after Beartwigs hotfixes. The game is in Early Access and ships near-daily updates — we re-verify content when patches land.
- Avoid known-unreliable sources. Several SEO-farm sites publish AI-generated Romestead content that's flat-out hallucinated. We don't cite them.
When we can't fully verify a mechanic, we say so explicitly. We'd rather publish a shorter accurate guide than a longer guess.
Editorial standards
- No paywalls. No newsletter gates. Read what you came for, leave when you're done.
- Patch-aware. Our patch tracker lists changes that affect existing guides, with notes on what we re-tested.
- We mark uncertainty. Phrases like "reportedly," "pending verification," or visible call-outs flag where we're not 100% sure.
- We update. Each guide has a "Last updated" date so you know how current it is.
Monetization & affiliations
We may add Google AdSense for monetization in the future. Steam store links may become affiliate-tagged (no extra cost to you; a small commission to us). Either change will be disclosed on the privacy page before going live.
We're not paid by Beartwigs, Three Friends, or any other party to write favorable content. Our guides are independent assessments based on actual play.
Contact & corrections
If you spot a factual error, an outdated mechanic, or a patch we missed, we want to know. The best places to discuss the game and surface issues are the official community channels: the Romestead Discord and the Steam Community forums. We monitor both for player questions and update guides quickly when issues are flagged.
